Pick ‘n’ Mix
Pick ’n’ Mix is our walkabout show specifically designed for hospital wards and waiting rooms. It features a ‘menu’ of short, pop up dances inspired by themes such as video games, dinosaurs and going to the zoo.
The performance is designed to give children and young people a sense of choice and ownership at a time when so much of hospital life is outside their control. Patients choose which performance they would like to see from the menu, which is followed by an invitation for interaction, participation and creative connection.
Pick ’n’ Mix was created at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and has also been performed in Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Milton Keynes University Hospital.

“The patient was totally engaged with you. She had limited words and you were able to communicate with her through dance/music/Makaton. It brought joy to my heart..simply AMAZING. This young patient has had her dreams fulfilled this afternoon.”

“I will also forever be grateful to [eek & wild], who rocked up at [my child’s] bedside yesterday about 15 mins ahead of his general anaesthetic, when we were all feeling very low and desperate. THE KINDEST, MOST ENTHUSIASTIC, UNINHIBITED, KEEN BEANS ON THE PLANET. ”
